about

This song was the outcome of a session that had been planned nearly a year before it actually happened with producer Nick DiDia (Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam) at Studio 301 in Byron Bay. Finally one morning, just before everyone left overseas for their own separate adventures, we arrived at the studios with nothing but a half-written New Orleans jazz inspired country song and, over the scope of just one day, it became Death at Lincoln Park.

It's a loose and loping dreamy, hillbilly jam that takes the traditional instruments which we use to busk with on the street and introduces them to all the new and interesting textures which we could create in such a world class studio.

lyrics

Oh I feel alone
The hands that I had to hold, are gone.
Tired of being strong, withered to something stale and old
Let me be now I want to go on

Thoughts of death abroad
A strange silence pulls at my heart
Tired of going on
Slowly becoming as to the bone
Let me be now I want to go on

Even when i'm singing,
I'm on the line and it's so dark
Living, dying, killing
I'm all alone in Lincoln Park

It will kill me
Your death will be, my death too
I need to stop fighting it, the death of him, me and you
I need to go on

Even when i'm singing,
I'm on the line and it's so dark
Living, dying, killing
I'm all alone in Lincoln Park
